Jewelry Designers
Modern jewelry designers are making big and bold style statements. They regularly create exhilarating mixtures of color and charisma to
adorn the bodies of their future owners. These unconventional designs
greatly vary in price, with some costing hundreds of thousands of
dollars. Before they can make such expensive pieces, the jewelry
designers must first go through extensive training to learn how to work
with precious stones and metals using a variety of tiny hand tools. They
become experts at adjusting or repairing the jewelry items, (rings,
necklaces and earrings) that their customers wear. Jewelry designers
are artistic, excellent problem solvers, and have a sharp business
sense. Recently, some jewelry designers are recognizing that computer
programs, like CAD/CAM's, can bring their most brilliant designs to a new
level of creativity and distinction. These computer programs also enable
jewelry designers too inexpensively and quickly experiment with new
styles for their jewelry because they can build their entire piece without
having to purchase a single gem or strand of gold. This has resulted in a
tremendous array of previously unknown layouts.
Jewelry designers are all innovators. Today, more than ever before,
designers have to change their look more frequently to stay ahead of the
competition. They're also becoming more willing to work directly with
their valued customers to make a client's jewelry dreams become a
reality. Designers use colored pencils, special templates, watercolor
paint and, increasingly, computers to create their drawings. These
custom designs are often formed with an elegant simplicity, which is
symbolic of a refined and classy style for a client's one-of-a-kind
personality.
Jewelry Designers are following the clothing industry's latest use of rich
colors. The recent discovery mandarin garnet has opened an entirely
new world of orange to the design community. This bright orange and
other color like it is definitely "in," as is femininity and individuality.
Currently those three items rule the fashion design world. New Age
bracelets that can hold single or multiple charms are another newer
development. And designers are of course continuing to work with
evocative, age-old symbols like crosses, pendants, and lockets.
Jewelry has been the most sentimental, enduring, and universal symbol
of love and marriage for hundreds of years. Jewelry designers form
their works to symbolize the style of a unique personality. Classically
cut, the designs are modern and youthful, yet as easily and beautifully
worn in a casual setting as with formal attire.
